Having a stroke…
…changed everything. Now I’m writing about it.

Since my stroke, writing is hard. I lose words, miss words, mix up pronouns and sentence structure, and question myself constantly. As a lifelong volunteer member of the Grammar & Spelling Police, please know any imperfections in my work are an indication I’m still recovering from my stroke. Any doctor I’ve mentioned has been given a different name for privacy, as well as the kids.
All of my drawings are done left-handed because my right hand never fully recovered from my stroke.
I am a queer writer, teacher, certified pizzaiola and professional chef who left the food world after an accident landed me in tech. It was a stroke that ended my career in software - after almost twenty years - but I am still cooking and writing today.
It only took me 52 years to publish!
