I started working on this essay in the fall of 2017. After eighteen submission attempts over five years, in December of 2022, “Catching Fireflies: How I Learned to Play the Stroke Card” has been published by Feels Blind Literary, Issue #8.

All of my illustrations are done with my left hand because my right never fully recovered from my stroke. This one is at the bottom of the page:

What’s special about this is that Chelsey Clammer, the person who reads my work and then provides suggestions about where my essay(s) might fit, is in the same issue, under the same category. As a bonus, Chelsey’s essay, “Survival of the Fittest”, has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize!
